Our top tips for hiring a wedding coordinator, what they do and why they can make all the difference to your wedding day.
With so many new services and terms being added to the wedding industry constantly it’s no wonder some couples get a little confused about who to hire and what they may need.
To help give you some insight into what may be the right choice for you, we’ve listed a few reasons why an on the day wedding coordinator could be a big benefit to your wedding day.
Even though we usually refer to this service as an on the day wedding coordinator, the truth is a lot of work and preparation goes into coordination in the lead up to the big day.
While every coordinator works differently, they all have the same end goal. To ensure you have a wonderful stress free wedding which runs smoothly. To give you a bit of an idea as to what sort of preparation goes into coordination before your big day, we’ve shared a bit of what we do here at The Aisle Runner.
We take time to document and understand your full vision for the day from who is in your processional, your schedule, set up plans, entrance points, guest accessibility and so on. We liaise with your vendors beforehand to ensure they are across any plans you have communicated to us as well as to make sure they can reach out in advance with any questions or concerns. We put together a full runsheet, floorplan and venue access map which we circulate to all vendors involved so we are all working from the same documentation and everyone is briefed and prepared before your wedding day.
Of course, on the day we are there before any of the vendors arrive to ensure they are met by us and able to gain access and insight to whatever they may need in order to successfully carry out their part of the day. We are on hand to make any quick decisions that need to be made and put out any unexpected fires.

Instead of you worrying about whether the photographer made it to your ceremony site on time or if your guest book was set up correctly, you can enjoy preparing for your wedding with your family and friends knowing someone has your back.
Anyone in the wedding industry isn’t just doing this as it’s their job, they do it because they love it. They love weddings and helping happy couples navigate this exciting, though sometimes stressful time, in their lives. An on the day coordinator is no exception! We’re not just carrying things out according to what we’ve discussed, we’re making sure nothing is missed, you’re not being bothered with minor details or hiccups (unless absolutely necessary) and are working hard behind the scenes to make sure you don’t have to do anything other than enjoy your big day.

When most of us get married, it’s more often than not for the first time. That usually means you’ve never planned a wedding before and even if it’s not your first wedding chances are this one will be different. There are no rule books to follow and every wedding is unique in what is involved and the order of events.
That’s where an on the day coordinator comes in handy. As you walk them through your plans and the preparations for the big day come together, they are more likely to spot any logistical issues or concerns regarding your timing and order of events as we’ve done this time and time again. We’ve seen what works and what doesn’t and usually keep an eye out for these mistakes so our brides and grooms don’t fall into the same pitfalls we may have seen in the past.
